​Jeff has a broad patent practice, ranging from patent enforcement, licensing, patent prosecution, and strategic patent portfolio development in the United States and foreign jurisdictions. Jeff has substantial experiences for the patent litigation proceedings for U.S. district courts and ITC and the post-grant proceedings for the Patent Trial and Appeal Board (PTAB), including claim construction, discovery, validity analysis, and infringement analysis. Jeff also has extensive experience preparing and prosecuting U.S. patent applications and foreign applications to help clients manage and coordinate complex patent portfolios. Jeff has experience working with a broad range of technologies, with focusing on microelectronic and chemistry field including semiconductors and display, illumination, and nanomaterial technologies.

 

Jeff also has rich in-firm and in-house experience. Jeff has been practicing in the patent fields over 15 years. Before joining NZ & Carr, Jeff was in an elite US boutique firm to deal patent prosecution and litigation matters. Aside from Jeff’s firm experience, Jeff also served in a top international semiconductor company for dealing patent portfolio management and patent dispute and litigation as well as assisting the company to devise overall intellectual property strategies. Jeff can bring clients distinct talents to provide overall strategies using a combination of his rich in-firm and in-house experience.

 

Jeff received his Juris doctor from Emory University school of law. Jeff also holds a master degree in Chemistry from National Taiwan University in Taiwan.

 

Jeff is admitted to Texas Bar and Taiwan patent attorney bar.
