Randy is a registered patent agent admitted to practice before the United States Patent and Trademark Office. He has over 10 years of experience in U.S and foreign patent preparation and prosecution for Fortune 500 companies, with an emphasis in semiconductor circuits and fabrication, consumer products, robotics, renewable energies, and mechanical arts.
Randy's practice also involves providing pre-litigation support for attorneys such as preparing patent opinions and invalidity analysis, and conducting due diligence on IP assets for acquisitions. Randy is fluent in Mandarin Chinese, which allows him to communicate directly with Chinese clients/inventors regarding prosecution strategies and application drafting in timely and cost-efficient manner.
Randy holds a Master of Intellectual Property degree from the University of New Hampshire School of Law (formerly Franklin Pierce Law Center) and a Bachelor of Material Science and Engineering degree from National Taipei Institute of Technology in Taiwan. Randy worked at Patterson & Sheridan LLP from 2009 through 2019. He also worked at Tsai Lee & Chen (Taiwan) as a chief patent engineer for 5 years. Randy brings unique practical experience to his practice of patent law due to extensive prosecution knowledge in both U.S and Asia. These experiences also allow him to be particularly sensitive to the concerns of clients when providing prosecution strategies in various countries.
